History and Constitution of the Association |
There was a public inquiry in 1996 regarding the rights of way over Church Stretton. There was a report in The Shropshire Star - National Trust accuses horse riders of being responsible for erosion on The Mynd! Obviously local horse owners were outraged.
Janet Eley, the local horse vet, organised a questionaire among local riders to see how often they rode the area. A group of volunteers conducted a survey of users of the Mynd one Saturday morning.
Janet wrote 'In Support of the Horse' in reply to the article in The Star.
The present form of the Constitution
of the Long Mynd and District Bridleways Association was adopted at the Annual
General Meeting held on Friday 10th October 2008.
